Hi, I'm Maira Macedo Torres — a Healthcare Assistant based in Dublin, and caring for people isn't just my job, it's something I genuinely care about doing well. Over the past 1 to 2 years I've supported clients here in Ireland, including elderly people, people living with dementia and Alzheimer's, people recovering after surgery, and people with disabilities. Every person I care for is different, so I take the time to understand what actually matters to them — not just the care plan, but the small things that make them feel comfortable, respected and safe in their own home. I'm QQI Level 5 qualified in Healthcare Support, Garda Vetted, and I keep my training current through HSeLanD, including dementia-specific care, safeguarding, infection prevention and manual handling. Families I've worked with usually say the same thing: that I'm patient, reliable, and that I really listen. I speak fluent English, Portuguese is my first language, and I also speak Spanish, so I'm comfortable connecting with people from different backgrounds.
